  • How Do I Apply and Enroll In A Program of Study?

    1. Complete an application an application and mail it to Enrollment Management office. Applications are available in Student Services on campus and online at www.haywood.edu. You can also apply online or at www.cfnc.org.
    2. Have an official copy of your transcript sent to HCC from your high school or GED scores. Note: official college transcript(s) must be received if you
      1. desire transfer credit evaluation or documentation of prerequisite credit, and/or
      2. desire to be considered for the nursing or veterinary medical technology program, and/or
      3. desire Veterans Benefits, then transcripts
    3. Take HCC’s Computerized Placement Test, Accuplacer, or send a copy of your SAT scores. Students are exempt from taking the placement test if they have recorded SAT scores of 500 or higher on each section-verbal and math – or a composite ACT score of 21 or higher. Transfer students may also be exempt if credit is transferable in math or English.
    4. In certain HCC programs, a departmental interview with an advisor is required. Check with the Enrollment Management office for a list of these programs.
    5. Check with Enrollment Management office by phone (828) 627-4500 or email admissions.status@haywood.edu to see if any other admissions requirements are required for your specific program of study.
  • How Do I Contact An Advisor For My Program Of Study?

    The College has established a comprehensive advising program in which each student applying to the college is assigned a faculty member as an academic advisor. Students who do not know their assigned advisor should call the academic department secretary or Student Development Services. To access information online, students must have their Colleague ID number. Students are assigned a CIS ID number upon applying to the college.

    To access information online, students must have their Colleague ID number. Students are assigned a CIS ID number upon applying to the college. It is sent to students in their acceptance letter. It is also listed on the student ID card which may be obtained from the bookstore. Students may also get their ID number from their advisor or Student Development Services.

  • How Do I Contact My Advisor If I Am Undecided About A Major or A Special Credit Student?

    Students undecided about career goals are assigned to the Education & Career Development counselors for academic advising. Undecided special credit (non-degree seeking) students or continuing education students should go to the Student Center for one-stop advisement, admissions, registration, payment, and books. The Student Center is located in the 1500 building (upper level) on campus. The Student Center is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am- 7:00pm and Fridays 8:00 am- 4:00 pm.
