You can benefit from studying Accounting at Haywood Community College by selecting an in-demand field which provides you the skills to work in a short time frame or to move forward to continue studying at one of our university partners.  You will be taught accounting classes by Certified Public Accountants with over 25 years of experience in the classroom and who have experience working in the field of public accounting.  Accounting is one of the hottest career fields through 2014 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  You will learn skills to have the ability to assemble, analyze, process, and communicate essential information about financial operations.  In addition to course work in accounting principles, you will study computer applications, business law, finance, management, economics, and financial analysis.  After graduation, you will qualify for entry-level accounting positions in many types of organizations including accounting firms, small businesses, manufacturing firms, banks, hospitals, school systems, and governmental agencies.   With work experience and additional education, you can advance far in the accounting profession.  If you wish to pursue your education beyond the Associates Degree, the courses you have taken prepare you to specialize in a number of business related fields at the 4-year level and beyond.
