From day one all the staff was welcoming and made me feel like I was a part of a great team. At Asheville Eye Associates, I worked in patient services where I checked patients in and out of the office. In this position I gained lots of knowledge on insurance and the elctronic processes that they use at the office. By the end of my co-op hours at Asheville Eye Associates I was working by myself with little help from the staff and fully understood what was expected of me working in patient services.
How did your degree program at Haywood Community College prepare you for your current job?Haywood Community College helped me prepare for this current job position by offering all the current medical office information and procedures. Through my courses I gained knowledge on the proper way to check a patient in and out, how to write professional documents, and insurance information. By having gained all of these skills, I am able to communicate with patients and other staff members verbally and written.
