Success Story: Amanda Mann
The Adult Education department would like to congratulate Amanda Mann (pictured with Debbie Rowland, Academic & Career Counselor, and Kelly Teague, GED Instructor) for completing her GED diploma and transitioning to continue her education at Haywood Community College in Medical Office Administration.
"Amanda has an amazing story," says Karma Shuford, GED Instructor. "We are so proud of her accomplishments and wish her a future filled with continued success."
In an essay that Mann wrote just prior to completing her final GED test, she said, "No matter what, I am not going to let anything get in my way of going to college!" Before completing her GED diploma, Mann met with Debbie Rowland in Career Counseling and began building the bridge to a stronger future.
When asked about her success, Mann said, "My Adult Education Instructors really motivated me to reach my goals! Kelly Teague and Karma Shuford played a major role both academically and personally. Sandy Stone, Chief GED Examiner, made the testing environment supportive and comfortable."
Amanda Mann's success is a perfect example of how determination, strong communication, and partnership with other departments serve as the building blocks to turn dreams into a reality! Best of luck Amanda, we wish you the brightest future possible -- The Adult Education Team
