College Advisory Council

Purpose
The College Advisory council is a formal council which serves in an advisory capacity to the President and the President’s Administrative Council. It is a vital component of Leaders in Action, Haywood Community College’s model of shared leadership. The College Advisory Council’s responsibilities include representation, collaboration, information sharing, and guiding the creation, implementation, and evaluation of new programs, services, processes, initiatives, and procedures. Each member strives to exhibit the seven key principles of Leaders in Action.
Schedule
The committee meets every third Friday of the month, except December and possibly a few of the summer months.
Membership
Members of the College Advisory Council will be nominated by the President’s Administrative Council and appointed by the President to serve a one-year term, from September through August. The number of Council members by division is based on the percentage of employees (of the total) in each division. Adjustments in the percentages will be made annually as needed to reflect changes in the employee base. The following table demonstrates the membership distribution for 2007/08.
