Disciplinary Review

Purpose
The Disciplinary Review Committee meets when a student files an appeal for a disciplinary charge made by the Vice President of Student Development Services. This procedure is outlined in Student Rights and Responsibilities in the HCC Student Catalog/Handbook.
Schedule
Upon appeal by the student, within the guidelines as established in the appeals process in the HCC Student Catalog/Handbook. Alternates must be approved by the president. The meeting must be scheduled within five working days of the date of the appeal. The student appealing must be notified of the meeting within five working days of the meeting.
Membership
<ol><li>Three faculty/staff members appointed by the President of the college. </li><li>Three student members appointed by the Student Government Association and approved by the President of the college.</li> <li>The President will appoint one administrator to serve as committee chairperson who will vote only in case of a tie.</li> <li>The Vice President as an ex-officio non-voting member.</li> <li>Committee members will serve one year from the beginning of fall semester through summer term with replacements appointed by the President or SGA if necessary.</li> <li>At least two faculty/staff members and two students plus the chairperson must be present in order for the committee to conduct business.</li> </ol>
