Continuing Education

Haywood Community College is the primary center for both training the area’s workforce and for providing direct assistance to small business development. HCC is also a partner with other organizations leading economic development efforts. The college is involved with the Haywood County Economic Development Commission, the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce and the WNC Advanced Machining Center project, efforts which are designed to attract new industry to the area, retain existing industry and build an environment that fosters economic growth and prosperity.

NOTE: Lodging and meals are not included in the cost of the courses. Accident insurance through Haywood Community College is required for participants of all hands-on ABS courses. The cost of the insurance is $1.25 per semester. The cost of insurance will automatically be added to the cost of tuition at the time of registration. The Community and Economic Development division includes the following training areas: Small Business Center, Health & Emergency Services, Public Safety, Occupational Extension, Computer Training, Online Training, Community Services, Business & Industry Training, and all Workforce Development efforts and special projects.

Please Note: The senior citizen waiver policy that is retroactive to July 1, 2009 requires that senior citizens now be waived up to 6 credit hours of credit instruction OR 96 contact hours of non-credit instruction per academic semester.

Effective August 15, 2009 Continuing Education Tuition Schedule:
1 to 24 hours will now be $65
25 to 50 hours will now be $120
51 hours or over will now be $175
