Services for students with disabilities are available at Haywood Community College (HCC) through the Counseling Office. Services for qualified students are designed to provide support for and access to the same educational experience available to other students. Students with disabilities are fully integrated into the college community, attend regular classes, and may participate in a variety of student activities. Students with disabilities are expected to meet the same academic standards as other students.
Services are in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Disclosure of a disability must be initiated by the student – click here to download and print the Student Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability form in PDF format or the Student Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability form in Microsoft Word format. It is also the student's responsibility to provide the required documentation.
