Haywood Community College will hold a joint GED and Adult High School Graduation Ceremony on Friday, February 5 at 7 p.m. in the HCC Charles Beall Auditorium. A February 12 snow and inclement weather date is scheduled. Seventy-four students will receive a GED and 12 students will receive Adult High School diplomas.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Janice Gilliam. Gilliam is the President of Northeast State Community College in Tennessee. Before this position, she was HCC’s Vice President of Student Success Services.

HCC’s Adult High School Program graduated its first class in 2002. AHS meets at the Alternative Learning Center in Waynesville. Day and evening classes are available.

Anyone interested in obtaining a GED may choose from three convenient options: the traditional classroom setting, online classes, and GED Express. GED Express allows busy individuals the chance to fit classes into their schedule in just an evening and a Saturday. After completing the two express classes, students are then ready to take the official GED tests.
