Haywood Community College’s Criminal Justice Club will sponsor a benefit motorcycle ride for “Children Across Haywood” on Saturday, September 18. Participants will register at 9 a.m. on the morning of the ride in front of the Student Services Building. The registration fee is $10 per person or $15 per couple. Cash or checks are accepted with checks made payable to Criminal Justice Club. New toys are also accepted but not in lieu of fee. Door prize tickets will be given to participants at time of registration. All motorcycles will leave the college at 11 a.m. The ride route will consist of leaving the college heading on Highway 23/74 west to the Blue Ridge Parkway. From the parkway, the route will follow the Soco Road exit and travel down Highway 19 through Maggie Valley and end at Smackers. Door prizes will be given away at Smackers at the end of the route. All proceeds will go to underprivileged children in Haywood County for the Thanksgiving/Christmas season.
