Haywood Community College’s 2011 graduation ceremonies will be held on Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m. Both events will take place on the Clyde campus in the Charles M. Beall Auditorium, Student Services Building. This year marks a record number of certificates, diplomas, or degrees awarded with a total of more than 530. Also, 16 Haywood Early College students will receive a two-year college transfer degree at Thursday’s ceremony.

Due to limited space and the increased number of graduates participating, two separate graduation ceremonies will be held this year. The Thursday, May 12th ceremony will include graduates of the following programs of study: Advanced Technologies, Arts & General Education, and Business & Entrepreneurship.

The Friday, May 13th ceremony will include graduates of the following programs of study: Creative Arts, Health & Human Services, and Natural Resources Management.

Master Teacher of the Year Award will also be presented at the ceremony. The Master Teacher Award is a distinguished teaching award presented to the full-time curriculum faculty member who most exemplifies excellence in teaching by demonstrating consistently excellent teaching, leadership, and service to the College and the community. The recipient is the College's nominee for the annual North Carolina Community College System Excellence in Teaching Award.

The recipient of the 2011 HCC Outstanding Alumni Award will also be recognized at both ceremonies and will be present to accept the award at Friday’s ceremony. The Outstanding Alumni Award is given annually to a Haywood Community College Alumnus who has attained distinction and success in his or her career field or through community service.
