Student Produced Veggies
Students in HCC’s Horticulture Program have a never-ending growing season. The vegetables and herbs produced hydroponically by students are supplied to HCC’s Sunrise Café. Hydroponic lettuce has already been served in the Café, while tomatoes and herbs will be ready for spring and summer. Pictured left to right are students Samantha Faust and Russ Leaptrot planting herbs in a hydroponic system donated by the Waynesville Garden Club. The hydroponic system for growing the lettuce was made possible by a mini-grant from the HCC Foundation.
