HCC Cosmetic Arts instructors practice what they teach. By keeping involved in the field of hair and makeup, these instructors bring experience to their students. Recently Gail Hensley, left, styled the hair for the backup dancers for singer Taylor Swift’s newest video “Love Story.” Deborah Ball, right, was the woman behind the looks of President-elect Barack Obama during his recent visit to Asheville. Deborah spent time with Obama styling his hair and applying makeup as part of a crew of professional support staff from both North and South Carolina. Both women are working on upcoming films and movie series such as The 5th Quarter, John Adams, and Dear John.
