Information Technology Services

Haywood Community College is committed to delivering excellent technology services. Information Technology Services (ITS) provides computing support to HCC faculty, staff and students. ITS support includes operating and maintaining the components of a campus wide network communications backbone, and networked PCs in classrooms, labs and offices throughout the campus. Notable information technology resources available to you:

  1. Wireless Internet access throughout the campus including classroom buildings, Student Services, the Learning Resource Center and other public areas
  2. High-Speed Internet services from classrooms and computer laboratories
  3. Haywired, the Colleges information portal, provides convenient access to email, calendars, online registration, online payments, and class schedules
  4. Blackboard, the learning management system for distance education

Information Security

Security is a top priority of the Information Technology Services department. HCC's Information Security website contains useful information, resources and tips for faculty, staff, students and the public who wish to become more security-conscious.

Tech Support Information

To submit a support request, click on the Haywired tab at the top right-hand side of the screen. On the Haywired web page select "support" at the top right hand side of the page and complete the web form.

You can call the IT helpdesk at  828-565-4009, or you can send an email request at websupport@haywood.edu. Please include a description of your issue,  your name, telephone number and an alternate email address in the voicemail or email request.

The ITS office hours are 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday.  If you leave a message or submit a request during non-office hours you will receive a response the next business day.
