Policy & Security
The use of the HCC wireless network is for the explicit purpose of college business and is subject to the college Computing Services Policy and Procedure. Any wireless network device that is not managed by the HCC Information Technology Services office will be considered a rogue device, and will be subject to detection and immediate removal from the network.
The HCC-Campus wireless network uses Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2). WPA2 requires users to authenticate with a unique ID and password. The WPA2 standard also features data encryption. All of the setup guides provide instructions for WPA2. As a user of the wireless network you are expected to maintain your own laptop and device security setup. Recommendations for securing your computer can be found at the HCC Information Security website. Utilities that can help you protect your computer can also be found on the HCC Information Security website.
