  • A to Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants. Reference: SB 403.2 .A45
    With growing tips and background information on approximately 15,000 individual plants as well as heirloom varieties and hybrids, this is an excellent quick information resource. Includes approximately 6,000 illustrations including color photos.
  • Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers. Reference: SB 403.2 .A438
    This book is divided into three main sections- a plant selector, a plant catalog, and a plant dictionary. Listing approximately 8.000 plants, this work also offers lists of plants by environmental and aesthetic needs.
  • Hortus Third. Reference: SB45 .B22
    This is one of the standard horticultural reference books. It arranges plants alphabetically by their Latin name and provides physical descriptions of each plant. A common name index and glossary are also included.

SB 403- SB 450.87 Books on flowers and flower culture, turf grass, greenhouses, landscape gardening.
SB 599- SB 990.5 Books on pests and diseases, weeds, plant pathology, and pest control (pesticides).

Find Circulating Magazines in the HCCLRC:

The HCCLRC subscribes to the following ornithology-related magazines; current magazines are located on the wall mounted magazine shelf racks. Back issues of these magazines are located beneath the wall racks and in the plastic boxes adjacent to the racks.
