LRC Services Announcement: September 23rd
On Friday, September 23--Sunday, September 25 the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department will be moving to a new building. During this move there will be no Internet service on the Haywood Community College campus. The Haywood Community College web page will also not be available. On Friday, September 23 all campus computer network services will be down. This includes the Internet, Haywired, Moodle, all Wireless and campus networks, and computer printing services. Students and faculty will be able to log in to LRC computers using the generic login and may open, create, edit, and save to an external storage device any Office document or project. All campus computer programs that do not require an Internet or network connection will be available.
The LRC will be open for regular hours on Friday, September 23 but service will be limited:
- The library will be open and you will still be able to check out and return materials.
- Librarians will be unable to renew books, look up or receive payment for library fines, or process Interlibrary Loan requests.
- The ability to search for materials using our library catalog system or online resources will be unavailable.
- NCLIVE will be available from off campus at www.nclive.org Please contact a library staff member at 828.627.4550 for NCLIVE remote access information.
- Printing services will be unavailable in both the library and the library computing lab in room 206. If you have an assignment due that day please plan accordingly. Students will be able to make photocopies for 10 cents/page.
On Monday September 26 , Internet service and wireless access will be restored on campus and the HCC web site should be back up.
