The LRC on LibraryThing
What is LibraryThing?
LibraryThing is a cataloging and social networking site where book lovers can easily showcase, review, tag, and organize their book collections. An easy-to-use search function offers access to thousands of reviews, ratings, and discussions, and also provides a number of methods by which users may search their collections as well as those of other members. Learn more about LibraryThing at the LT home page.
How does the LRC use LibraryThing?
We use LibraryThing to promote pleasure reading by offering our patrons an easy way to locate interesting books in our collection. We won't post our entire catalog (you can find that here) but we will highlight certain areas we think you might enjoy:
- Recent Additions
- Local Authors
- Staff Recommendations
- Featured Collections & Displays
Do I need to sign up?
Of course not! If you like LibraryThing you are welcome to sign up and share your personal favorites, but guests may view and search our collections as well as those of other members without any obligations.
How do I get started?
Click on any of our LibraryThing icons or links to access our profile page. Browse our book collections to view our featured titles or search our books using either the tags feature or the site search engine. Take some time and look around-there is quite a lot to see!
What else do I need to know?
The content of LibraryThing and the opinions and posts by other website members do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of A.L. Freedlander LRC or Haywood Community College.
