BARRETT WINS INTERNATIONAL BUILDERS AWARD

Haywood Community College building construction student, Shannon Barrett received an International Builders Award at the 58th Annual International Builders’ Show Convention and Exposition held recently in Atlanta, Georgia.



One student from each student chapter was nominated for this award. Tommy Clement, HCC instructor, said Barrett is an excellent student. "Shannon is enthusiastic—about his education, about his involvement in the community and about his involvement in the club,"he said.



Barrett is president of the HCC student chapter of the local Homebuilders’ Association and currently serves the colleg as a student ambassador Barrett will graduate in May with an Associate degree in Building Construction Technology. He hopes to further his education at a 4-year university.
