Haywood Christian Academy high school students became the first high school students in the county to earn a Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). Through grant money and a collaborative effort between HCA and Haywood Community College, these students now have a certificate that certifies that they possess the core employability skills in reading, math, and locating information that are required across multiple industries and occupations anywhere in the United States.

The Career Readiness Certificate is based on the ACT WorkKeys Industry Skills Assessment System which measures real world employability skills that employers believe are critical to job success. There are 3 levels to the CRC: bronze, silver, and gold.

HCC Education & Career Development Services and the Continuing Education Department worked together to assist these students to earn their CRC.

The following HCA students earned the CRC: Betsy Bane, gold; Daniel Bryant, silver; Christy Burke, bronze; Jonathan Cairnes, silver; Cody Greene, silver; Lauren McClure, silver; Presley Parker, bronze, Taylor Plott, silver; Anna Wilt, silver; and Kathryn Wourms-Williams, silver.
