Jammin at the Mill Pond will on Saturday, October 16 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Haywood Community College. This is a free bluegrass event to showcase the college, its programs and alumni, and the Appalachian heritage of Western North Carolina.

The event will be hosted by the Hominy Valley Boys and feature other local artists. Richard Hurley will emcee the event.

There will be a molasses making demonstration, barbeque or catfish meals available for purchase, jammin’ areas, alumni gathering tent, and corn shelling. In addition, there will be a free gospel concert in the college auditorium starting at 7 p.m.

The college is now accepting applications for vendor booths for a juried show. Vendors of Appalachian Heritage crafts may submit an application by Friday, October 1. Booths come with a table and two chairs. Vendors may bring a tarp or umbrella. Booths are free to HCC alumni and $50 for others. Vendors must commit for entire day, and fees are non-refundable with no rain date. In addition, vendors must collect sales taxes. For more information on becoming a vendor at HCC’s Jammin’ at the Mill Pond event or for an application, please call Brenda Fannon at 627-4522.
