HCC and SCC to Hold Joint Health Fair

Haywood Community College and Southwestern Community College second year nursing students will be hosting a health fair Thursday, November 5 at the Balsam Center at Southwestern Community College. The fair will be from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30p.m. and is free of charge. The event will include booths and activities related to important health issues in the community such as H1N1, breast cancer, and Anaphylaxis. There will be Hypertension checks, blood glucose checks, and a Red Cross blood drive. Area businesses that will participate include: Carolina West Dental Clinic, Reach of Haywood County, Haywood Regional Fitness Center (nutrition and membership drive), Haywood Regional Diabetes, and Carolina Breathing Solutions.
