Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Department recently held a Paramedic Pinning Ceremony where six students were recognized for completing paramedic requirements. These students completed nearly 1500 hours of classroom instruction and 300 hours of field rotations with Haywood County EMS, Buncombe County EMS, and Cherokee Tribal EMS, as well as 200 hours of clinical rotations with Haywood Regional Medical Center (ICU, ER, Labor and Delivery, Urgent Care, Operating Room) and Haywood Pediatrics. These individuals obtained the knowledge and skills to provide Advanced Life Support Care in any emergency setting. Each individual is registered to take the North Carolina Paramedic Credentialing Exam.
