Haywood Community College recently held a REAL (Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning) Recognition Ceremony where students showed their completed business plans. Students that participate in the REAL program range from various programs of study such as business, cosmetic arts, or professional crafts. The course is also offered on an as needed basis through HCC’s Continuing Education Department.
Zachary Guy, President of Appalachian Antique Hardwoods, LLC was guest speaker for the event. He told the students that “there is no second best in business. You want to be the best. You need willpower to do it and have the faith that you can do it. Believe in your product. Believe in yourself and never, ever quit.”
