HCC Students Receive SECU Scholarships

Haywood Community College Associate in Arts student Savanna Craig and 2010 Associate in Arts graduate Wesley Ponton both received the State Employees Credit Union People Helping People Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year. Each North Carolina community college receives two scholarships annually.
Recipients of the scholarship are selected by who most exemplifies the philosophy of people helping people and demonstrates leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement. Preference is given to students whose parents or guardians and family members are public sector employees who live and work in North Carolina. Recipients must also be residents of North Carolina.
