Haywood Community College will offer a Day Basic Law Enforcement Training Class beginning April 09, 2012. This course is designed to equip the student with the basic skills, knowledge and ability to function as an inexperienced law enforcement officer in the State of North Carolina.
The day class meets Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for approximately four months. The class will also meet a few weekends to accommodate the appropriate required classes. Applications are currently being accepted and all necessary paperwork must be returned by March 30, 2012.
The course is composed of blocks of instruction with a State specified minimum number of hours set for each of the blocks. The total number of course hours required for this certification is set by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
