The Share the Warmth Benefit held recently on the campus of Haywood Community College raised over $15,000 for Mountain Projects to help area residents with heating costs. A large number of people attended the event and was treated to a great bluegrass show by local bands Balsam Range and Hominy Valley Boys. Patsy Dowling, Executive Director of Mountain Projects, greeted those in attendance and introduced videos that were shown throughout the event of clients that had benefited from the agency’s services. Senator Joe Sam Queen and Representative Ray Rapp also addressed the donors at the event and thanked them for sharing the warmth. The benefit was sponsored by HCC and Champion Credit Union. All donations collected went 100 percent to Mountain Projects.
Over $15,000 was raised at the Share the Warmth Benefit Concert held at HCC this past weekend. Pictured are members of Hominy Valley Boys and Balsam Range as they joined together for the last song of the evening.

The Hominy Valley Boys have participated in the Mountain Projects fundraiser for two years in a row.
