Sherri Myers Named Director of Institutional Advancement at HCC

Sherri Myers of Waynesville is the new Director of Institutional Development at Haywood Community College. Myers most recently worked at SunTrust Bank in Asheville as Portfolio Manager. Prior to that, she worked at First Union National Bank in Asheville for 10 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a Finance Focus from Strayer University in Washington, DC and an associate degree in Business Administration from HCC. She is licensed as a Certified Financial Planner and in NC Life Insurance. She also has internal financial planning training.

Myers has a passion for non-profits and improving our communities. As part of her transition from banking to the non-profit sector, she has volunteered with area non-profit organizations such as the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. She is very involved with her church, Francis Cove United Methodist Church, where she serves as music director, treasurer, and member of Finance and Building Committees.

Myers has a son, Dustin at Western Carolina University and has been married to Dean Myers for almost 30 years. She enjoys walking, reading, camping, lake activities, and being with her family.
