The Small Business Center of Haywood Community College will offer a free workshop entitled, "Thinking about Starting a Business in Haywood County?" on Tuesday, September 18, from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center. There is a substantial failure rate among new businesses. Don't assume just because you are an expert in your field, you will be an automatic success. You will need to have strengths in other areas as well. Before you begin your new venture, consider the benefits of exploring the following:

What it takes to be an entrepreneur

First steps in setting up your particular business

Resources available to you as you plan your venture

Attendees will receive the latest edition of the "Guide for New Business in Haywood County" as well as other resource materials.

Lillian Norris of Waynesville will be the presenter. For more information or to preregister, call the Small Business Center at 627 4512.
