TRADER JOINS HCC FACULTY
Ann R. Trader recently became Haywood Community College’s accountant. She assumed the position left vacant by the retirement of Ruth Moore in mid-July. Trader moved from Robert E. Lee Academy in Bishopville, S.C., where she was the accountant for three years. A graduate of N.C. State University with a B.S. in Business Management and Accounting, Trader has worked in the accounting field for the past nine years. She was controller for "The Morning News" in Florence, S.C. and also worked for a time with a textile chemical manufacturing company.
Originally from Mathews, N.C., Trader said she looked for an opportunity to return to North Carolina for about a year. She is finding her first time community college work rewarding, "I am very impressed with the college—all of the faculty and staff show pride in the college and professionalism in their jobs. The campus is beautiful and inviting and I am finding a new appreciation for small town community awareness."
Trader is married to Dean Trader and has two daughters, Nicole and Lauren.
