NC Administrative Code for Community Colleges T23 Chapter 2(C), Section .0600 College Evaluation,  “All colleges shall obtain and maintain regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The System President, when requested, will provide assistance to colleges seeking regional accreditation.”

In keeping with NC Administrative Code for Community Colleges, Haywood Community College seeks to maintain reaffirmation of accreditation and retain membership in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC). As a qualifying institution, HCC provides federal funding for eligible students and preserves the transferability of HCC courses to other regionally accredited institutions.

As a SACS COC requirement for membership, Haywood Community College shall comply with the current Policy on Substantive Change for Accredited Institutions of the Commission on Colleges.
