HCC will employ only competent faculty members qualified to accomplish the College’s mission and goals of providing quality programs and services responsive to educational, social, and cultural needs of all individuals (HCC Mission Statement). In its determination of “acceptable faculty qualifications,” the College will abide by North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings’ Administrative Code 23 NCAC 02C .0202 FACULTY, which mandates the following:

  1. Colleges shall employ faculty members so as to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' criteria.
  2. Colleges shall determine appropriate teaching and non-teaching loads for faculty and for technical assistants to the faculty so as to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' criteria.
  3. The Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
