Policy 6.12: Faculty and Staff Salary Determination

Effective Date: Tue, Feb 12, 2008

Haywood Community College’s salary plan for faculty and staff is a market based plan which supports and fosters a performance driven culture. The program provides for salaries which will attract and retain qualified individuals. The goal is to provide salaries on the basis of the external market, internal equity, and individual performance.

The staff compensation program is applicable to all full-time non-faculty personnel of the College. The program establishes an appropriate classification system of positions within the College and a salary range for each position which will result in equitable treatment of employees within the College and assist in attracting and retaining qualified personnel.

The faculty compensation plan is applicable to all curriculum faculty members. The program establishes a salary range for each faculty member based on the educational degree which will result in equitable treatment within HCC and assist in attracting and retaining qualified personnel. The faculty salary plan is designed to have the flexibility needed to ensure the College meets the minimum salary requirement for faculty as mandated by the North Carolina Community College System.
