  1. Educational Leave with Pay Procedures

Full-time employees are encouraged to pursue professional and academic development through the advancement of their education. Course work pursued during “Educational Leave With Pay” must be beneficial to the College and supportive of its Mission.

The term “educational leave” as defined in North Carolina Administrative code Title 23 Chapter 2 D.0103 refers to the release from duties or time normally required of a fill-time employee in carrying out his or her full load of responsibilities as assigned to further his or her education. This policy does not apply to off-duty time used for educational purposes.

The President is responsible for the administration of “Educational Leave With Pay” within the guidelines of NCAC Title 23: 2D.0103. College funds may be used to pay employee salaries while on educational leave provided the employee’s pursuits meet the defined criteria.
