Policy 6.15.9: Leave Transfer

Sick Leave

Newly hired full-time or part-time with benefits employees who were previously employed by another North Carolina agency covered under the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 135 may transfer to Haywood Community College any unused sick leave earned at the other agency.  Employees terminating employment at Haywood Community College may transfer unused sick leave to the new employing agency in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.

Annual Leave

Newly hired full-time or part-time with benefits employees who were previously employed by any North Carolina agency covered under the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 135 may transfer to Haywood Community College up to eighty (80) hours of annual leave earned at the other agency.  Employees terminating employment at Haywood Community College may transfer all or part of unused annual leave to the new employing agency in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
