Policy 6.18: Nepotism

It is the desire of the Board of Trustees of Haywood Community College to avoid the perception of preferred treatment based on family relations. In the event that "closely related" (as defined by 23 NCAC 02C .0204) individuals are employed concurrently at Haywood Community College, no individual shall be permitted, either individually or as a committee member, to supervise or to participate, either as a judge or an advocate, in the evaluation of another employee to which that individual is "closely related;” or to participate in other management or personnel considerations that directly affect the other person.
