  1. Voluntary Shared Leave Procedure

The Board of Trustees authorize the use of the Voluntary Shared Leave as a means to assist full-time Haywood Community College employees in minimizing economic hardship brought about by accident or illness. Voluntary shared leave provides a method by which accrued annual, bonus or sick leave (if applicable) may be transferred to or received from eligible accounts to a qualified employee’s sick leave account.

Qualified employees (including employees at other community colleges, public schools or State agencies) may request and use shared leave when they experience a qualified absence due to a personal, serious and prolonged medical condition or that of an immediate family member.
