Academics- Research & Institutional Effectiveness
The HCC Regional High Technology Center is a nationally recognized institution of applied advanced technology located in the Waynesville Industrial Park in Waynesville, NC. In 1986, the RHTC opened its doors, becoming the first Advanced Technology Center in North Carolina and one of the first in the nation. The mission of the RHTC is to serve the needs of Western North Carolina by providing high technology training and by promoting the growth of regional industry. The RHTC is considered nationally as a place of virtual reality research and application. Students receive hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and emerging technologies in many areas such as lasers and robotics.
