Program Accreditation

HCC is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Collegesto award certificate, diploma, and associate's degrees.  Additionally, some programs are accredited through other agencies. These programs and the accrediting agencies are listed below.

  • Cosmetic Arts
    Accredited through the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts. Reaccredited every six months.
  • Criminal Justice Technology
    Certified through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Last certification: 2004. Next certification: 2014.
  • Fish and Wildlife Management Technology
    Founding member of North American Wildlife Technology Association (NAWTA). Last accreditation: 2012. Next accreditation cycle: 2016.
  • Forestry Management Technology
    Accredited through the Society of American Foresters (SAF).  Last accreditation: 2005. Next accreditation cycle: 2015.
  • Medical Assisting
    Accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Last accreditation: 2012. Next accreditation cycle: 2020.
  • Nursing
    Accredited through the North Carolina Board of Nursing Approval for Associate Degree Nursing Program (NCBON). Last accreditation: 2008. Next accreditation cycle: 2016.
