HCC offers 4-week Business Planning Course
Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (REAL) will be offered from September 14 through October 7 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6-9 pm. This four-week course will be held at Haywood Community College in the Freedlander Building in Room 204.
Good business planning can minimize risk and save you from significant financial and professional losses resulting from an unprofitable business. Learn how to take a business idea, improve or expand an existing business, and “walk through” the following steps: Self-employment assessments, the business plan essentials, legal structures, community analysis, marketing research and feasibility, targeting the customer and meeting customer needs, analyzing the competition, taxes and licenses, utilizing professionals, computerized cash flow analysis, and financial feasibility.
Local business owner, Ralph Iglesias of Crawford Creek Electric says, “I really enjoyed the REAL program. I went the class looking for one thing and instead discovered much more… You opened my eyes to great amount of knowledge. The material is taught in a solid straight forward method. The class has given me more confidence, and the cash flow and break even formulas are really great. It is a very good program.”
Allan Steinberg, REAL certified instructor will facilitate this class. Steinberg is also the Executive Director of Smoky Mountain Development Corp. and works with the SBA 504 loan program.
