TLC Mission & Purpose
The mission/purpose of the Teaching & Learning Center is to support teaching and learning opportunities for students. The Teaching & Learning Center of Haywood Community College believes that personal fulfillment, self-sufficiency, and student success can be fostered through instructional support services. These services include a peer tutoring program, on-line tutoring, faculty math, writing, and science labs, diagnostic testing, and supplemental instructional materials. The center also provides proctoring for traditional and distance learning exams.
Desired Outcomes:
- Improve study skills of participating students.
- Improve student success in coursework.
- Increase student participation in the TLC.
- Provide employment and leadership opportunities for Student Tutors.
