Our Counseling staff  provide students with the following counseling services:  academic, admissions, career exploration, college transfer, and testing (Accuplacer)counseling. The goal of our counseling staff is to encourage each student’s self-development and to help students transition to college. We also provide students with the tools to become a better student and earn their college degree. These skills are transferable to a student’s chosen career.

If your plans are to complete the admissions process and take the Accuplacer entrance test, we are available to assist you with the application process, schedule a testing appointment, and discuss test results with you. Whether you need help to develop short-term or long-term educational goals as they relate to a career or explore majors consistent with your interest, abilities, and goals.  We can help clarify your educational and career goals and establish an appropriate academic plan to accomplish your educational goals.  Your plans could include taking a class for personal enrichment or improving your job skills. Or maybe your plans are to take courses at HCC that will transfer to another college or university, then we can offer you college transfer counseling and College Road trips to local universities.  We can also identify appropriate resource personnel to assist you with disability services, financial aid, scholarships, personal counseling, study skills, and test anxiety.

Counselors are available to help you transition from your GED classes or high school,  another college, unemployment, or retirement to Haywood Community College!  All counseling services are free-of-charge and we look forward to assisting you.
