For the 2021 commencement ceremonies, graduates will not participate in a traditional rehearsal of the ceremony processional. Instead, all graduates will need to refer to the following 2021 Graduation Ceremony Guidelines video.

HCC has a professional photographer to take photographs of students as they receive their awards on stage.  Information for ordering photographs is provided in the digital graduation packet sent to each potential graduate.

Please inform your family members in attendance that we request no flash photography during the ceremony to reduce distractions.

Arrival Instructions

All graduates have been asked to park in at the 200 building (Alder) and must report to Student Services (upper-level, 1500 building (Hemlock)) for further processional instructions. All guests must report to the Charles M. Beall Auditorium (lower-level, 1500 building (Hemlock)) for screening and entrance. The auditorium will open approximately 45-minutes in advance to the listed ceremony times.

Haywood Community College is a tobacco-free campus.

Due to current social distancing protocols, limited seating will be available in the auditorium for family and friends. Additionally, tickets will be required for all guests to enter the auditorium. This includes all infants and children. Guests will only be seated once their entire party has arrived and will not be allowed to exit and re-enter the auditorium once seated. Seats may not be saved for late arrivals. Each graduate will receive emailed information for obtaining guest tickets.

All faculty, staff, and graduates have been asked to park at the 200 building (Alder) to leave plenty of room for guests in the 1500 building (Hemlock) parking lots.  Shuttles will be available upon request for guests who are not able to park close to the auditorium.  They will be identified by the HCC logo on the side of the vehicle.  Additional handicap spaces will be blocked off on both sides of the building.  If someone in your family needs special assistance, please notify us so we can provide the help they need –
