Earn tuition-free course credits at Haywood Community College toward a job credential, certificate, diploma, or two-year degree in a technical career education program of study.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Be a high school junior or senior;
2. Have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses or have the recommendation of the high school principal or his/her designee; and
3. Meet the prerequisites for the career pathway.

*Students may enroll in up to two career technical education pathways at a time and may only enroll in courses that are part of those pathways.  Students may switch pathways with the principal’s approval. Eligible students may also enroll in a college transfer pathway and career technical pathway at the same time.

Maintaining Eligibility

1. Continue to make progress toward high school graduation, and
2. Maintain a 2.0 in college coursework after completing two courses.
3. A student who falls below a 2.0 GPA after completing two college courses will be subject to the college’s policy for satisfactory academic progress.

 

How to apply

1. Complete the Career and College Promise Application.

2.Complete the Haywood County Schools Parent Permission Form (for Haywood county students only).

3. Turn into your high school counselor and they will complete page two of the application.
