EARN COLLEGE CREDIT IN HIGH SCHOOL
ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: You can get a head-start on a college degree by taking college classes during high school. You get college credit and the best part—the classes are free. A student pays no tuition only the costs of the textbooks and materials required for the class.
Through Haywood Community College’s dual enrollment program, a high school student may be able to take curriculum classes while still enrolled in high school. Applicants must be at least sixteen years old, making progress toward high school graduation, and have the high school principal’s approval.
Interested high school students could begin earning college credit next semester which means after high school graduation, they could possibly enter college as a second-semester freshman.
For more information about the dual enrollment program, contact HCC Student Services at 828-627-4500.
