HCC Small Business Center Collection a Valuable Resource

Have you ever thought that you’d like to own your own business? Or are you already a business owner and need to solve a problem to increase your bottom line?

The Small Business Collection at Haywood Community College may hold some answers for you. The collection of over 500 small business "How to" books are located in the Learning Resource Center on the Clyde campus and offer titles such as, So You’re Thinking of Having A…Business: A Guide to Help You Decide, Start and Run a Profitable Retail Business, and Street Smart Marketing. One of the new titles in the collection is Business Lessons for New Entrepreneurs: 30 Things that I Learned before the Age of Thirty by Mark Csordos. Gayle Harvey, Director of the North Carolina Small Business Center Network (SBCN), said of her recent visit to Haywood County, "I was very impressed by the staff, facilities and services provided by the SBC at Haywood CC. It is apparent that the SBC is well respected in the college and the community".

The Small Business Center Network, comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community based provider of training, counseling, and resource information. Each Small Business Center has a library of professional resources waiting to be tapped. Printed materials including books, pamphlets, magazines, trade journals, as well as, a wide variety of tapes and videos are available.
