HCC STUDENTS HOPE TO ESTABLISH COMPUTER SUPPORT CENTER
Students in the Information Systems program at Haywood Community College are working toward establishing a computer technical support center for residents of the community. According to Jon Feichter, Information Systems instructor, HCC students would staff the center. "It will be a great way for our students to get some real, live, hands-on experience as they work towards a degree," he said.
Once established, the center will offer technical support to area residents. "In short, if someone’s computer is broken, we’ll try to fix it for them." Feichter said.
In an effort to raise money to get the center up and going, the Information Systems Club is taking $5.00 donations toward a drawing for a Dell laptop computer. The drawing will be held on May 17, 2002. A person does not have to be present at the drawing to be eligible.
If you would be interested in making a donation to help establish this help center, contact the HCC Information Systems Department at (828) 627-4536.
