HCC WELCOMES SEVEN NEW FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES
In the last few months, Haywood Community College has welcomed seven new full-time employees. Deborah Ball assumed the position of Cosmetology Program Coordinator. Ball served as Interim Coordinator since 2000 and worked part-time as an instructor since 1992. Ball is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Ball has worked as a hair designer and makeup artist on many films such as Titanic, The Last of the Mohicans, and Cold Mountain. Ball managed salons for over 20 years.
Robert Blanton is a Jewelry Instructor in the Professional Crafts Program. Blanton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UNC Charlotte. Blanton took jewelry classes at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte and completed graduate studies at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Blanton taught jewelry at Central Piedmont and UNC Charlotte.
Bruce Campbell teaches in the Automotive Systems Technology Program. Campbell has worked part-time at HCC since 1990. Campbell is completing his studies for an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Automotive Systems. Campbell has owned two automotive businesses and has many years of experience as a mechanic.
Hilary Cobb is an instructor in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Technology. Cobb has an Electronics Engineering degree from HCC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from WCU. Cobb also has a Masters of Science degree in Technology from WCU. Cobb was the Head of Applied Technology and Engineering at Blue Ridge Community College.
Joe Fox is an Office Systems Technology instructor. Fox left HCC for two years to be the WNC Director of NC REAL Enterprises. Fox completed his undergraduate studies at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC and received a Masters degree from WCU in Business Administration. Fox was the lead accounting teacher at Mitchell Community College. At Spartanburg Technical College, Fox was the Management Program Coordinator.
Tim Johnson is a Cosmetology instructor. Johnson has a Cosmetology degree from HCC and has taught part-time since 2000. Johnson taught at private schools in Arden and Hickory.
Gerard Stamm is an Early Childhood Education instructor and a Huskins instructor in General Psychology at Pisgah High School. Stamm received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Stamm has a Masters degree in Psychology from Georgia State and a Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. Stamm worked in private clinical practice for 15 years and taught at Warren Wilson College for six years.
