HCC BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVES BRUCE JOHNSON AS NEW FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER
The Haywood Community College Board of Trustees approved Bruce Johnson as the newest member for the Haywood Community College Foundation Board on February 18, 2003.
Johnson was born in Decatur, Georgia and raised in North Salem, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University in 1987 and a MBA from UCLA in 1992. For 10 years, Johnson has been Director of Operations at Harrah’s. He is on the Finance Committee at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. Johnson and his wife, Mary Margaret live in Haywood County and own Diversified Supplies. He has volunteered with the HCC Foundation for four months.
The HCC Foundation exists to aid, strengthen, and further the work and service of HCC. It was created in 1975 under the North Carolina Non-Profit Corporation Act. Organized to provide additional financial support for the College through private donations, the Foundation supports specific projects to improve the education programs and development of HCC.
