HCC’S DEBORAH BALL NAMED TO PIVOT POINT INTERNATIONAL’S ADVISORY BOARD
Deborah Ball, Haywood Community College’s Cosmetology Program Coordinator, was recently named to Pivot Point International’s Educational Advisory Board.
Pivot Point is a corporation consisting of four cosmetology research centers and a network of Member Schools and graduate centers in over 50 countries. Its aim is to train craftspeople to elevate their skills to a higher level of artistic creativity. Pivot Point teaches designers to analyze, envision, and plan their work. For 40 years, it has created successful careers for thousands of artists of hair design and is one of the most respected leaders in hair and beauty education.
According to Debbie Mack, Pivot Point manager of Member Schools Services, Pivot Point’s Educational Advisory Board was founded in October 1997 as a means to receive feedback and input from key Member School educators around the country. As a member of the board, Ball will meet to discuss educational programs and materials, brainstorm new ideas, preview projects in the works, and complete surveys.
Ball spent over 20 years managing salons in North Carolina and Florida before coming to work at HCC in 1992. She has 23 years combined experience in theater and film as a hair designer and makeup artist.
